It’s Been a Bit…

We’ve had a crazy summer and fall, but we have been slowly adding things to our collection, especially towels, which seem to be the thing most people get excited about. Bear is really enjoying designing new towels as they get ordered, and has even added some new software to be able to create her own embroidery (which she is eagerly learning).

As usual, we gifted our graduating Rangers (oldest branch of Girl Guides) a set of towels or an animal towel of choice. This year they ALL wanted to be “big kids” and were excited to pick animals for Bear to make. Two ducks, Mothman, and an axolotl. We tried out some different methods of making the hoods, and had them test the versions to see which they thought was best (they were proud to be ‘testers’). Ironically, the favourite was the way we’d been doing it all along. Go figure.

Another request that we filled this summer was a wolf, and this was the first towel Bear got to test out her new software on. Apparently it’s a bit tricky to get stuff to stitch-out correctly, but she seems to have mastered shapes with one colour fairly nicely (check out those ears and face contour).

Finally, we are getting ready for our first Christmas Market, and are very excited to put some new things on our table, again, mostly towels. Here’s a taste of what we will have out this weekend (details for the market below).

If you live in the Guelph area, feel free to come and say hi. We’ll be in the barn!

The Wellington County Museum and Archives is thrilled to be hosting the Christmas Market again this year! The Christmas Market will take place on Friday, December 1st from 4:00 to 9:00 pm, and Saturday, December 2nd from 12:00 to 5:00 pm. Ring in the holiday season with a handmade market, live musical entertainment, delicious local food, a visit from Santa Claus, and more family fun!
